Jay-Z and Beyonce Offer Fans Free Tickets as Reward for Charity
Two days before Beyoncé and Jay-Z kick off their On the Run II tour in Wales, the power couple has announced a new initiative offering free tickets to fans who contribute to charity.
Jay and Bey are partnering with two nonprofits for the campaign. The Prince's Trust, a youth-focused charity founded by the Prince of Wales, and Global Citizen, an anti-poverty advocacy organization, will both raffle tickets for select European shows to fans who sign up to volunteer—or, in the case of The Prince's Trust, donate money.
“The united efforts of BeyGOOD/DoGood, along with our amazing partners The Prince’s Trust and Global Citizen, are calling upon you to lift your voices, lend your hands and share your creativity as active and positive forces for doing good,” Ivy McGregor, director of philanthropy and corporate relations for Beyoncé's management company, Parkwood Entertainment, said in a press statement.
Beyoncé has partnered with Global Citizen before, performing twice at the organization's Global Citizen Festival in New York City. Hov, through his Shawn Carter Foundation and his streaming platform Tidal, has earned attention for his own philanthropic endeavors in recent years, including a $1.5 million donation to the Black Lives Matter movement.
On the Run II will feature Bey's first live performances since her epic headlining sets this year at Coachella. Jay toured last year in support of his album 4:44. During the tour's North American leg, DJ Khaled will serve as the opener. You can check out tour dates here and, if you're feeling charitable and/or lucky, donate to The Prince's Trust here.
