NEW ORLEANS, La. (KPEL-FM) - Four people were shot in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday night, less than two hours after the weekend-long French Quarter Festival wrapped up.

According to a report by WWL-TV in New Orleans, there are possibly five individuals who were shot.

The shooting took place at the intersection of Iberville Street and Decatur Street around 8:30 pm.

The New Orleans Police Department said that one person was arrested shortly after the shots were fired.

NOPD said the incident occurred as they were directing a large crowd as the French Quarter Festival came to an end.

An officer observed the shooter and was able to put out a call on his radio. Authorities were able to arrest the shooter within a block.

The victims were taken to the hospital, and all injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

No other details regarding the incident have been released by NOPD as of this time.
