Manhunt Underway For Derrick Devante Mouton In New Iberia Shooting
The New Iberia Police Department and the United States Marshals Service are asking for the public's help in finding a man who is wanted on a charge of Second-Degree Murder along with other felony charges.
Officials from the New Iberia Police Police Department say they are seeking 30-year-old Derrick Devante Mouton after there was a shooting that happened in New Iberia on July 24.
If you know this man's whereabouts, you are asked to call the Iberia Parish Crime Stoppers line at 337-364-TIPS (8477). If you prefer, you can also call the United States Marshal Service Tip Line at 877-926-8332.
Our news partners at KATC-TV 3 say the Jeanerrette man was identified as a suspect in the shooting case that left a New Iberia man dead. The shooting happened on Friday. July 26 on Field Street. Officers were called to the scene to find the victim had been shot multiple times, but despite life-saving methods, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
New Iberia Police Department officials say that in addition to the charge of Second-Degree Murder, Mouton is also wanted on the following charges:
Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
Possession of a Machine Gun
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
