Man Says Fishing Buddy Was Going To Feed Him To Bigfoot

Oklahoma fisherman Larry Sanders was found guilty of first degree murder after he chocked his friend to death while cat fishing in the South Canadian River.

The reason for the murder?

Sanders claimed the victim, high school buddy Jimmy Knighten, was planning on killing him first and then float his body downstream to feed to a Bigfoot.

"The 55-year-old had been fishing for catfish by hand with his high school buddy Jimmy Knighten, 52, in July 2022 when he claims to have spotted a 12-foot-tall Sasquatch tromping around downstream, according to kxii.com."

According to MSN.com, Sanders and Knighten got into an argument over a fish that was swimming in the South Canadian River.

As Knighten shouted during the argument, Sanders believed Knighten was not just shouting, but was actually summoning a Bigfoot to come and eat him.

"During the wild trial, Sanders told the court he suspected Knighten was planning on drowning him and float his body downstream to feed to Bigfoot, the outlet reported.

A brawl between the men broke out and Sanders grabbed his pal by the throat and strangled him until he turned blue and died, he confessed to cops."

A special agent with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said during the trial that Sanders told authorities he continued to choke Knighten until he turned blue while a tribe of Bigfoot watched.

Sanders' lawyers had planned on using an insanity defense, but Sanders was reportedly shown to know right from wrong.

Larry Sanders was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
