Millions of people will be voting today and for those in Louisiana, you are reminded of what you cannot have on when you walk in to vote.

Secretary of State Nancy Landry reminds everyone in Louisiana going to the polls that they need a form of identification when they enter to vote and you are not allowed to wear something upon approaching a voting precinct.

While we are all Americans and free to support any candidate we wish, there are limitations to showing your support on election day.

You are not allowed to wear any article of clothing in the voting precinct that endorses or shows support for a candidate on the ballot. After all, most people who are already there to vote have their minds made up on who they are voting for, so a hat or shirt will likely not influence anyone in line.

In addition to a candidate's name or image not being allowed, you cannot have a candidate's campaign slogan in clear sight either.

We share this with you so that you aren't told you have to leave and later return. Don't inconvenience yourself on Election Day, and please don't challenge this law with those who are working in your voting precinct, they don't make the laws.

So, get out and vote today and just remember to not wear anything that supports a candidate that is seeking office.
