Target one of the leading retailers of home goods, has announced a recall of a specific line of candles due to safety concerns.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported a recall for a popular candle line that can be found at both Target locations in the Lafayette area. It has been reported that the jar can break during use posing "lacerations and burn hazards".

2.2 Million Candles Recalled

2.2 Million Threshold Candles have been recalled because the candles jar can crack or break during use after being lit creating a safety hazard. They have not determined the reason for the defective packaging

This recall involves the 5.5-ounce 1-Wick and 20-ounce 3-Wick candles. The Threshold Candles being recalled have over 50 different sents listed.  If you are unsure if the candle you purchased is part of the recall, check the sticker located on the bottom of the candle jar, the recalled item number will be printed on it. You are looking for the recall number 23-255 on the bottom of the candle.

Stop Use Immediately

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to any Target store for a full refund, or contact Target to recieve a prepaid return lable to return the candles by mail

Target received a total of 19 reports of the candle jar breaking or cracking during use and one person was injured according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

If you do have any of the Threshold Candles be sure to follow the recall instructions provided by both Target and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
