New Details Revealed After Man Pulled From Float Truck During Mardi Gras Parade
The video, shared across multiple social media accounts, captures officers converging on a truck that was actively pulling a Mardi Gras float packed with riders and large speakers blasting music.
In the footage, officers remove the driver from the vehicle and place him face down on the pavement. He is handcuffed without visible resistance. The float, decorated for the parade and filled with participants, sits motionless behind the truck as the music stops and the parade comes to a halt.
Jail Records Reveal Serious Felony Charge
However, screenshots from the Jackson County inmate lookup system confirmed the driver was arrested on a felony drive-by shooting charge.
The man has been identified as 27-year-old James Armand Hudson. According to the jail records, Hudson is listed as not bondable and remains in custody at the time of publication.

Questions About Parade Oversight
The arrest has also led to questions about parade screening procedures. Many online commenters asked how someone with an active warrant could participate as a float driver, noting that parade participants (especially drivers) are typically required to provide identification and documentation prior to being approved.
Authorities have not released additional details about the underlying drive by shooting case.
