With how rocky 2025 has started, it was refreshing to read some good local news on my feed, and without hesitation, I wanted to see if, by helping spread the word, we could locate someone who did something out of the kindness of her heart.

Not to go viral online or to receive a reward for her good deed, just simply because the opportunity presented itself and she acted instead of ignoring the situation.

Lafayette Family Searching For 'Kind-Hearted Angel' Who Saved The Day At Rouses

If you have ever had your debit or credit card declined at the register with all your groceries bagged and a line behind you, then you know how embarrassing and frustrating that can be.

Carolina Sanchez said that this happened to her father-in-law on Monday at Rouses Market on Johnston Street in Lafayette.

In a post shared on Facebook in the 'Whatz Going On in Acadiana' group, she explains that his card wasn't working and 'a kind-hearted angel' stepped in without hesitation and paid for all of his groceries, "We don’t know who you are, but your generosity and kindness left us speechless."

The post now has over a thousand likes and counting. The comments are flooded with locals expressing that they hope blessings find this good samaritan. Al A. commented saying, "There are angels all around us".

Sanchez would like to give the woman who paid for her father in laws groceries a small token of their gratitude, so let's get to work Acadiana, share this post so we can find her.

This wholesome moment reminded me just how kind people can be and certainly made me proud call Lafayette home.
