ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (KMDL-FM) - A little over 20 years ago, my wife and I took a tour of the world famous Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana. I brought a disposable camera along with me in hopes of catching something ghostly on film, snapping multiple pictures in every room on the tour.

Recently, we noticed something in one particular picture neither of us saw 20 years ago, and it's a bit terrifying to be honest.

The Legend Of Chloe Poisoning The Woodruff Children

The legend of two of the Woodruff children dying at the Myrtles Plantation is based in both folklore and in actual facts depending on which story line you want to go with.

The first says that Chloe, an enslaved woman at the Myrtles Plantation, was caught eavesdropping on the Woodruff family, and as punishment had her ear cut off.

She reportedly lived inside of the house at the time, but after she was caught listening in to conversations, not only did she have her ear cut off, but was allegedly banished from the house.

In an effort to get back into the Woodruff's good graces and hopefully move back into the house, legend says that Chloe baked a birthday cake for the Woodruff children, but included poisonous oleander leaves in the recipe. Chloe wasn't trying to harm the kids, she was gambling the oleander would simply make them sick, giving her the opportunity to move back into the main house and nurse them back to health.

As the story goes, the oleander actually killed the two children, James and Cornelia, as well as their mother.

While there is no factual recorded record of any of this actually happening, there are actual records that show the mother, Sara Matilda Woodruff died of yellow fever in 1823, the two children also died of yellow fever shortly after in 1824.

All of this brings us to the recent startling discovery my wife and I found in a photo we took at the Myrtles Plantation over 20 years ago.

Ghost Of Child Seen In Myrtles Plantation Picture

The other day my wife was going through a bunch of old photographs she had come across of our kids, Mardi Gras, football and baseball games, and more. She also found a stack of the pictures I had taken on our tour of the Myrtles Plantation back in the early 2000s.

I remember us getting the pictures developed and initially being disappointed because we didn't see any ghosts or anything strange in the pictures. Looking at the pictures again a few days later, we did notice something in one of the pictures. I won't go into that now but you can see that photo HERE.

Fast forward 20 years to the other day when my wife found the pictures again and noticed something pretty odd in one of them. She text me the picture but never told me what she saw in the photograph because she wanted to see if I would see it too.

Well, I didn't. It's just a dark photo of me taking a picture of the famous mirror at the Myrtles Plantation that people report seeing faces in.

When I got home from work she handed me the physical picture, again without telling me what to look for. She told me to tilt it and shine the flashlight on my phone on the picture and...I SAW IT.

What we both saw in the picture was a little girl in a white dress standing in front of the parlor door, possibly holding what looks like a tray.

The super odd thing is, when you look at the picture straight on, you can't see anything. But, when you tilt it and shine a light on it or behind it, she appears out of nowhere.

Below are a few attempts I made so that you can see her in the corner. The interesting thing is, when I try to enhance the image in any way, it washes out. The only editing to the picture I was able to do that sort of worked was to make it black and white.

Do you see the little girl in the corner of the picture? It helps if you hold your phone back a little.
