A crazy but sad scene unfolded this past Monday, June 12 at Mandeville Police Department. A Mandeville man apparently committed suicide in the lobby.

Mandeville Police said the incident happened around 4:00 am but for whatever reason, they reported the incident around 3:00 pm.

As you can imagine, the Mandeville Police Department closed for a period of time to deal with the incident.

The man's identity and age have not been disclosed yet.

The department later issued a statement that read in part: "The Mandeville Police Department is currently investigating the death of an individual in the front lobby of the Mandeville Police Department located at 1870 US Hwy. 190."
