Louisiana State University has announced plans for a big parade and celebration this Wednesday to celebrate the newly crowned women's basketball national championship team.

A parade is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 5 at 6:30 pm. The route of the parade has yet to be determined.

Following the parade will be a celebration inside the Pete Mavarich Assembly center on the LSU campus at 7:00 pm.

Of course, the team is coming off an impressive run in the NCAA tournament that was capped off by a 102-85 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes in Sunday's National Championship Game.

This is the first national title in the history of the LSU Women's basketball program.

It is, however, the fourth as a head coach for Kim Mulkey, who just wrapped up only her second season at the helm of the Tigers.

The team arrived back in Baton Rouge earlier today and was greeted by a slew of fans at the airport before heading to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
