Louisiana Shoppers: Taylor Farms Recalls Salsas, Dips, Guacamole, and More…
LOUISIANA - Louisiana shoppers may want to take a quick look inside the refrigerator before grabbing that container of salsa or guacamole.
Taylor Fresh Foods, more commonly known as Taylor Farms, is recalling 20 ready-to-eat food products distributed to 26 states, including Louisiana, because some of the products contain jalapeños that were recalled over possible Salmonella contamination.

Louisiana Is On The Recall Distribution List
The Taylor Fresh Foods products were sent to retail distribution centers in 26 states, and Louisiana is one of them.
That doesn't mean every Louisiana grocery store received every recalled item. It does mean Louisiana shoppers should check their refrigerators if they recently purchased the affected types of prepared foods.
The products were sold at several retailers and brands, including Walmart Freshness Guaranteed, Kroger Private Selection, Taylor Farms and Trader Joe's, along with products prepared for deli departments at stores such as Target and Whole Foods.

Which Louisiana Grocery Stores Could Be Involved?
The recalled Taylor Fresh Foods products were distributed through major retailers, including Walmart, Kroger, and Target as well as other grocery chains.
For Louisiana, this means it's worth checking refrigerated foods purchased from major grocery stores rather than assuming the recall only applies to products with the Taylor Farms name.

What Should You Do If You Have A Recalled Product?
If you find one of the recalled items in your Louisiana refrigerator, the advice is straightforward:
Don't eat it.
Instead, discard the product or return it to the retailer for a refund.
It's also a good idea to wash your hands after handling the recalled food and clean any refrigerator shelves, containers or surfaces that may have come into contact with it.
If you recently bought refrigerated salsa, guacamole, dip or prepared foods at a Louisiana grocery store, take a minute to check the package.
Look at the brand, product description and "Best If Used By" date and compare them with the official recall information.
