(KMDL-FM) The Powerball lottery gods are smiling. Actually, I don't know if there is such a diety but in Louisiana, Lady Luck and whatever personfication of Powerball you want to dream up are apparently dating and going steady. By steady, I mean once again a Louisiana ticket has earned the largest prize awarded in a particular Powerball drawing.

In our very first lottery story for the year 2026, we described how Louisiana began with a bang. I won't say the lottery wins have been non-stop in Louisiana, but we are certainly on a hot streak, and Monday's Powerball drawing provided the state's largest Powerball win of the year.

Now that I think about it, that might be the single largest win of all draw games in Louisiana in the past six months. We have had some impressive Lotto wins, and some impressive Easy 5 wins in Louisiana, but Monday's Powerball took us beyond six digits on the good side of the decimal point.

How Much Was the Powerball Jackpot for Monday February 2, 2026?

Let's see if you're Louisiana's latest pre-tax millionaire. Here is how the Powerball drawing for Monday, February 2, 2026, unfolded.

When the ping pong balls dropped in Powerball last night, the estimated top prize was $69.9 million. That was for the annuitized jackpot; the cash payout on a jackpot win last night would have been $31.6 million.

Instead of the usual, no big winners note I normally get from inside the Powerball organization, I was informed that a Louisiana ticket was a one-million-dollar winner. There was also a one million dollar winner sold in Texas. Oh, and no tickets sold matched the numbers needed to win the jackpot prize; they did include that information.

The Texas Lottery has already revealed that the Match 5 Million winner in the Lone Star State was purchased in Austin, Texas, at a Circle K Store. The Louisiana Lottery has not updated its winner portal, so we don't know where the one-million-dollar winner was sold, but we can find out. Let's check your numbers.

What Were the Winning Powerball Numbers for Monday, February 2, 2026?

The winning Powerball Lottery numbers for Monday, February 3, 2026, were:

03   08   31   60   65   Powerball 04   Power Play x2

We know that two tickets, one sold in Louisiana, and one sold in Texas, both missed the jackpot because they didn't match the red Powerball. Here is a hunch from someone who watches the lottery a lot. If the Louisiana ticket wasn't a quick pick, as most winners are, this sure looks like someone "playing ages".

By "playing ages," we mean the numbers chosen are the ages of children, grandchildren, and parents. If you look at the numbers, I can see the ages of two grandkids, a mom, and a couple of grandparents. Maybe it's just me wanting good fortune to fall upon a sweet family. Then again, the ticket could be held by anyone, including you.

How Do I Claim A Lottery or Powerball Prize?

You can check your ticket via the Louisiana Lottery website and even get prize redemption information. But if you're holding the one-million-dollar winner, you're going to have to go into a regional lottery office to fill out some paperwork. By the way, if you do have that valuable ticket, sign the back of it right now. That way, if it's lost or stolen and someone attempts to redeem it, you'll be protected.

The Powerball jackpot will climb to an estimated $80 million for Wednesday's drawing. Tonight's Mega Millions lottery drawing will feature a jackpot prize of $323 million. Please remember that lottery games come with a risk of losing money. If you have a gambling problem, call 1-877-770-STOP (7867) for assistance. It's offered free of charge. Good Luck.
