Louisiana Lottery Confirms $190,000 Jackpot Win Saturday
(KMDL-FM) Across Louisiana, these past few weeks, it's been quite a competition to see if the Louisiana Lottery jackpots would be rising higher than the temperatures across Louisiana. In cities like Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, and Morgan City, the heat index has been climbing to epic proportions, but then again, so have the jackpot amounts in games like Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, and Easy 5.
Louisiana's "lottery weekend" gets started on Friday night with a drawing in the multi-state lottery game Mega Millions. This past Friday, the Mega Millions jackpot was listed at $140 million for the estimated annuitized jackpot. There was no jackpot winner, and the biggest prize won by a Louisiana ticket was $1,500.

On Saturday, lottery drawings in Louisiana ramp up with three big games on the schedule. Those games are Powerball, Lotto, and Easy 5. As we mentioned, all three of those games have been building substantial jackpots over the past few weeks.
What Was the Most Recent Powerball Jackpot?
When Powerball held its drawing on Saturday night, the top prize was $409.8 million for the estimated annuity, with a lump sum estimation of $186.1 million. Here is how the Powerball drawing played out on Saturday night.
Our sources at Powerball did confirm that no tickets sold for Saturday's August 2, 2025, drawing matched the numbers needed to claim the game's jackpot prize. There was a Match 5 Million winner that was sold in Georgia, but otherwise, there were no major prizes awarded to Louisiana players.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't check your numbers, though. Here are the Powerball numbers for August 2, 2025.

According to the Louisiana Lottery, a little over 5,000 tickets sold in the state for Saturday's Powerball returned at least some money to their purchasers. The largest prize awarded to a Louisiana-sold ticket was $200, and only six players earned that prize.
The Lotto Game, a Louisiana Lottery original, continues to grow its jackpot, too. The top prize in Lotto for Wednesday's drawing will be $1.5 million. Usually, the Lotto prizes don't grow to be that big. So, we fully expect that game to get a winner in the next couple of drawings.

But the game that remains the hottest draw game for Louisiana Lottery players is the Easy 5 game. That game featured a jackpot prize on Saturday night of $190,000, and lo and behold, Easy 5 got the state's big winner.
According to the Louisiana Lottery website, a ticket purchased in Westwego matched all the numbers needed to claim the Easy 5 jackpot of $190,000. That game will now reset its jackpot amount to $50,000 for Wednesday's drawing.
