Ignatius Carmouche from Opelousas Makes ‘The Voice’
Ignatius Carmouche a music minister who currently hails from Opelousas, Louisiana, successfully got through the blind auditions on 'The Voice.' He won his audition and a visit with Adam Levine by winning the show's Snapchat contest. During a beautiful rendition of "Latch" a song by an English duo called Disclosure, featuring vocals by Sam Smith, Coach Jennifer Hudson's and Blake Shelton's chairs turned. I may be a little biased in favor of our charming and talented local guy, but I thought his version was even better than the original. Coach J-Hud apparently heard something special in his voice, too, as she praised the former SLCC student, and Ignatius chose her to be his coach. Good luck, Ignatius, wherever your journey leads. We'll be watching!
