Louisiana Residents Attach Ice Voodoo Doll to Tree in New Orleans
(New Orleans, Louisiana) - Federal agents continue to sweep across the New Orleans area looking for undocumented workers, and now, in typical New Orleans fashion, a Voodoo Doll has been erected in the Crescent City.
Agents in New Orleans have faced opposition while in the city, but this latest unwelcoming sign is a first.
Sure, we have seen a few minor protests in the city since Federal Agents have arrived, and we've also seen store owners lock agents out of their buildings. Still, the Voodoo Doll may be the ultimate form of opposition, given that it appeared in New Orleans.
The large doll was found in Uptown New Orleans near Magazine Street, and it depicts an ICE agent. The doll is attached to a tree, and you can see that pins are driven into its body.
Attorney General Liz Murrill responded publicly after the photo circulated online, and here's what she had to say:
“You can tell the pro-illegal immigration radicals are losing the argument when they resort to ICE voodoo dolls and harassing the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in New Orleans,”
This latest protest comes as agents have arrested hundreds of "illegal aliens" in and around the New Orleans area, which has drawn opposition from both some local and state officials.
As for the person(s) responsible for putting up the Voodoo Doll in Uptown New Orleans, there's no word if authorities will investigate this matter or arrest anyone for erecting this doll. Take a look at the viral photo from New Orleans.
Here are a few other photos of protests in the New Orleans area as agents sweep through the city, looking for undocumented immigrants.
