Well wishes are going out to George Michael who has been battling a severe case of pneumonia.

Last week, the pop singer canceled shows in Austria, France and Wales, and now Michael is postponing the remainder of his Symphonica Tour as he is undergoing treatment for the pneumonia in Vienna.

According to Michael’s website, he is “slowly improving,” but needs more time to fully recuperate before hitting the road to finish the tour dates that are currently in the books. Michael’s doctors — Dr. Christoph Zielinski and Dr. Thomas Staudinger — have labeled the singer’s condition as “severe community acquired pneumonia.”

“His condition has stabilized and he is responding to treatment,” the doctors said in a statement released following the news of the tour being postponed. “From the current point of view, the time until recovery cannot be estimated, but he will not be able to perform the rest of the tour. Besides medical treatment, complete rest and peace and quiet are mandatory.”

Fans are encouraged to hang onto their purchased tickets, as once back on his feet, Michael will reschedule the UK dates of the Symphonica European tour. Stay tuned to PopCrush for the new dates on the tour as well, as Michael’s progress with his unfortunate illness.
