(99.9 KTDY) - Dark Atom Studies is in the city of Franklin, filming a production they call Kid Paranormal, according to KATC.

Franklin Mayor Eugene Foulcard says their excitement over the filming of the new project, Kid Paranormal, is continuing to grow. He says their city has the Film Franklin Initiative, which aims to bring filming projects to Franklin's unique community.

The film features Olivia Brown and John Schneider. Mayor Foulcard says that when productions come to their community, it is a boost to the local economy, as people need lodging and food and use local services.

According to the International Movie Database (IMDB),

Best friends, Adie and Lilly, start a paranormal investigation business and uncover a decades-old murder mystery. As they explore haunted locations, they face terrifying supernatural forces and dark secrets that put their lives at risk.

Franklin city officials say it's been a busy time over the last two years, with filming for three movies and a host of other productions.

According to the city of Franklin's Facebook page, two local residents appeared in filming, and more filming projects are on the way.

Franklin’s momentum in the film industry continues to grow, and we look forward to what comes next to join the legendary films already rooted in Franklin’s history.

If you enjoy movies about the paranormal, you will enjoy Kid Paranormal and the local scenery.

Foulcard added,

We are thrilled to have Dark Atom Studios choose Franklin as the setting for Kid Paranormal. Our Film Franklin Initiative is designed to highlight the charm of our city and create meaningful economic benefits for our residents and small businesses. This production is another strong step forward in strengthening Franklin’s presence in Louisiana’s film industry.
