We are all busy so I have done the hard work for you. I have searched the internet and come up with the top 3 things you should know today.
In Local News:
Ochsner Health CEO Warner Thomas says he doesn’t see COVID case numbers letting up anytime soon in the state. Last week hospitalizations related to COVID-19 increased by 73%. Thomas is hopeful that the statewide mask mandate will begin to curb those numbers. But Thomas says it’s too early to tell if masking efforts are beginning to slow the spread of the disease.
In Britney News:
Britney Spears wants her father, Jamie Spears, removed as estate conservator as soon as possible and her lawyer is trying to make that happen. Yesterday, Mathew Rosengart filed a motion requesting that a judge expedite the singer’s father as conservator of the estate as soon as possible. Britney is awaiting a hearing that will take place on Sept 29.
In Celebrity News:
Jennifer Aniston is responding to criticism after she revealed that she has cut ties with some people close to her bc they didn’t get vaccinated or disclose their vaccination status. Aniston explained her point of view saying "Because if you have the variant, you are still able to give it to me," referring to breakthrough cases of COVID-19 infections." I may get slightly sick but I will not be admitted to a hospital and or die, BUT I CAN give it to someone who does not have the vaccine and whose health is compromised (or has a previous existing condition) — and therefore I would put their lives at risk."
The actress went on to say that we have to care about more than just ourselves right now.
Ellen's Bonus Olympic News:
Olympic Diver Tom Daly showed off what he was knitting last week while watching the Olympic games. Daly posted a photo of the sweater he was knitting yesterday on his Instagram page, which was an Olympic sweater with his name and Olympic rings on it.
