Elf on the Self has been a long-standing Christmas favorite but the legendary figurine is about to get a holiday competitor if Hidden Valley Ranch has anything to do with it.

Tiny elf figurines are usually placed on a shelf to let the Big Guy (Santa) know who's been naughty or nice. This year Hidden Valley Ranch dressing wants to push aside Elf on the Shelf to make room for Ranch on a Branch.

Ranch on a Branch has already acquired the nickname "Ranchie". Ranchie is a "bottle-shaped ornament" and is part of a boxed set. The set comes with a Ranch on a Branch ornament, a storybook and a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch.

The storybook explains how Ranchie is trying to become a real bottle of ranch dressing and moving him from one place to another will help. Hidden Valley Ranch says Ranch on a Branch serves as a reminder to spread joy.

Ranch on a Branch box sets sell for $30 and may be purchased for a limited time at hiddenvalley.com.
