For Eat Lafayette 2019 we visited with Jill, one of the managers at Dean-O's Pizza on Bertrand Drive.

Since 1971, Dean-O's has been serving Lafayette “Italian food with a Cajun flair” in a relaxed comfortable atmosphere.

Jill and her team served up delicious appetizers, pizzas, and pasta for us, including the Crawfish Nachos (LOUISIANA crawfish, of course), Spinach & Artichoke Dip; a combination specialty pizza, 1/2 T Rex, 1/2 Cajun Executioner (the T Rex has, as Jill says, "all the meat", and she says that the Cajun Executioner is 'kind of like the Cajun supreme pizza" because it comes with onions, bell peppers, and shrimp).

And then Jill brought something out that just blew me away. I admitted that since I've been eating at Dean-O's (since the early 1980s), I had never had their pasta. She hit me with their house-made lasagna, and I almost lost my mind: 12 layers of meat, cheese, and pasta goodness! The lasagna "noodles" were cooked perfectly (not too firm, not too mushy); the layers meat, sauce, cheese, and spices just melted in my mouth! I'd say it's the best lasagna I've had in Lafayette!

And, if that wasn't enough, who knew that Dean-O's had a solid burger?!!??!?!  (Solid:
adjective, meaning "excellent"; "cool"; "awesome".) I recommend their Bacon Cheeseburger. If you are a burger fanatic, you won't be disappointed!

Dean-O's invites you to enjoy their Eat Lafayette Special where you get to choose one of three of their appetizers along with a small pizza and 2 soft drinks.

They are open from 10:30 AM through lunch and dinner 7 days a week, and they offer a great dining atmosphere, to-go orders, they are on the Waitr App, you can take-and-bake, and they do catering!

Dean-O's has been a Lafayette tradition since 1971 and, with two locations, plans to continue being Lafayette's go-to pizza and pasta and burger and salad and appetizer spot for many years to come!

Join us at Dean-O's Pizza and let's eat, Lafayette!
