Downtown Alive To Feature Bigger Bands This Spring!

People have been asking, "When's Downtown Alive starting up?" The answer is....March 21st! The spring 2014 season of DTA kicks off with The UL Big Band, and Johanna Divine in Parc Sans Souci.

There will be fewer events this season, but bigger bands. Yes, it's still free! The Spring 2014 lineup is highlighted by Grammy winning Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band, longtime favorite Cowboy Mouth, and southern rock legends The Marshall Tucker Band. Here's the full schedule:

March 21 UL Big Band with Johanna Divine (Big Band/Jazz – Parc Sans Souci)
March 28 Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band (Zydeco – Parc Sans Souci)
April 4 The Marshall Tucker Band (Southern Rock – Parc International)
April 11 Cowboy Mouth (Rock – Parc International)
May 2 Richard Lebouef & Two Step (Cajun – Parc Sans Souci)
May 9 Blayze & Saddles with Makers Reel (Honky Tonk/RocknRoll – Parc Sans Souci)
May 16 Jaryd Lane & The Parish (Country – Parc International)

Something new is the "Battle of the Bands." It's a chance for local bands to compete for a chance to perform at DTA! Concessions open at 5:30. The music starts at 6:00. Downtown Alive is produced by Downtown Lafayette Unlimited. Admission is still free. All ages are welcome
