Diocese of Lafayette Marks Its Centennial Today (Video)

One of Acadiana's most prominent religious organizations turns 100 years old today.

According to the Diocese's Facebook page, t was 100 years ago that Catholics in South Louisiana, formerly part of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, received a Papal Bull declaring the creation of the Diocese of Lafayette.

The Diocese is celebrating with several events including a Centennial mass at St. Martin de Tours Church in St. Martinville this evening.
