Church Point Man Arrested for Fatal Shooting on Election Night

18-year-old Nicholas Ardoin of Church Point has been arrested and charged with 2 counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property after two people were shot at while walking. One the victims, a 14-year-old male, was struck and has died.

Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson says the incident happened around 7:00 p.m. at South McMillan and East Ebey Street in the corporate limits of Church Point.

A second juvenile suspect is being questioned.
