Charenton Woman Arrested For Allegedly Calling In False Attack
A woman's call to police about being attacked in her home turns out to be nothing but a lie.
Tracy Landry with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Megan T. Dugas of Charenton falsely reported that she was attacked in her home on Friday by two black males armed with a handgun. After Dugas' call, detectives noticed she recently spent a sum of money consistent with the amount she reported stolen from her home during the alleged invasion. Landry says Dugas then admitted to filing a false complaint and was arrested for criminal mischief.
Dugas is scheduled to appear in court on October 13, 2014.
