Buddy, a Pit Mix, was found in early January in Vermilion Parish.  He was found out in the country, in the middle of the highway, wandering aimlessly.

He was picked up and taken straight to a veterinarian, who gave this diagnosis: slight skin irritation, malnourished, and brokenhearted.

After the initial visit to the vet, the man who rescued Buddy worked with Animal Aid for Vermilion Area (AAVA) to nurse him back to health.  After 8 weeks of proper medical care, proper nutrition, and a whole lot of love, this is Buddy today:

Buddy is heartworm negative and has been given an all-clear from the veterinarian, and has been micro-chipped, vaccinated, started on heartworm preventative, and neutered.

Today, Buddy is ready to go to his new home!  If you are willing and able to open your home and give lots of love and belly rubs to Buddy, he would love to meet you!

The man who rescued Buddy already has 3 rescues of his own, so he is hoping that someone will fall in love with Buddy, and give him the loving home he deserves.

There is an adoption fee for Buddy, which helps cover some of the veterinary care he has received.  If you mention that you saw this on KTDY, there will be a $25 reduction in the adoption fee!!
