Backstreet Boys had fans on the edge of their seats over the weekend, when the iconic boyband initiated a Twitter countdown on Friday (May 11).

The first tweet, captioned "Ready...", featured a digitalized silhouetted image of the five-piece on Friday. On Saturday (May 12), BSB tweeted, "Set..." with a behind the scenes image of a band photo shoot. On Sunday (May 13), the group pleaded "Don't Go..." with a 10-second-long teaser clip. Finally, on Monday (May 14), they dropped the news: "Excuse the dad joke but...we're back," they tweeted, poking fun of their 1997 hit "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)." "NEW BACKSTREET BOYS SINGLE “DON’T GO BREAKING MY HEART” OUT MAY 17TH."

Check out all the tweets below.

"Don't Go Breaking My Heart" is the first new music from the '90s heartthrobs since their 2013 album, In a World Like This. BSB will be hitting the Vegas strip this summer for their Larger Than Life residency, and who knows, maybe they'll have a new album to perform or surprise fans with a guest appearance from their favorite boyband, BTS.
