Music is often referred to as the universal language. Some speak that language more eloquently than others. It's particularly powerful when someone can perform a song and overwhelm the composer, and/or original artist. Three years ago, Ann & Nancy Wilson had Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant in tears with their performance of "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors. Carole King was recently honored. When the undisputed queen of soul, Aretha Franklin, took the stage, she brought the house down with a powerful rendition of "(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman."
