Suspect Taken Into Custody After Stealing Ambulance in Louisiana
(KTDY) - A suspect is in custody after they allegedly stole an ambulance in south Louisiana and crashed it during a police chase.
The ambulance was stolen in New Orleans and later crashed in Slidell on Thursday night.
State Police say that the suspect who stole the ambulance crashed it into a car and was then taken into custody. The suspect who stole the emergency vehicle was not injured and was booked in the St. Tammany Parish jail.
Police did have to deploy spike strips during this chase, and perhaps that is what led to the suspect losing control of the ambulance and later crashing it.
As for those in the vehicle that the ambulance hit, they were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
