  • Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuge, Marion. in addition to fishing and hunting, Harrell Lake and the Finch Bayou Recreation Area are part of the area as well.
  • Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge, St. Francisville. Be sure to visit the massive bald cypress tree that is reportedly over 1,500 years old
  • Catahoula National Wildlife Refuge, 210 Catahoula National Wildlife Refuge Road, Jonesville. 25,000 beautiful acres in central Louisiana that includes the Duck Lake Wildlife Auto Drive
  • D’Arbonne National Wildlife Refuge, 11372 LA-143, Farmerville. Established in 1975, and if you're lucky, you might even spot a bald eagle or two while you're there.
  • Red River National Wildlife Refuge, 150 Eagle Bend Point, Bossier City. One of the newer refuges, and also home to a fishing paradise at Lake Caroline
  • Bayou Cocodrie National Wildlife Refuge, 3391 Poole Road, Ferriday. Try some hiking on beautiful Cypress Creek Trail and the Observation Tower Trail.
  • Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge, 480 Richland Place, Monroe. Perfect for kayaks, and fishing from the pier overlooking the lake
  • Tenses River National Wildlife Refuge, 2312 Quebec Road, Tallulah. Check out the beautiful scenery and look for native wildlife with the family at this gorgeous park.
