Alleged Church Arsonist Scheduled to Change Plea in February

22-year-old Holden Matthews, the man suspected of setting fire to three African-American Churches in St. Landry Parish in the Spring of 2019, is scheduled to change his plea.

Matthews has pleaded not guilty to both state and federal charges, but a court filing Thursday points to a change-of-plea hearing set for February 10. Plea negotiations have been ongoing with federal prosecutors.
