80 Year Old Bus Driver Wins Grammy [Video]
When Joe Thompson retired after building Peterbilt trucks for 29 years, he got bored. Joe decided to take a job driving a school bus for the Wilson County, Tennessee school system. He drives children with special needs from Mount Juliet, to Watertown Elementary school.
He's also a Grammy winner. Joe sings bass for The Fairfield Four, a popular a cappella gospel group. They gained widespread exposure for their contribution to the soundtrack of the 2000 George Clooney movie, "O, Brother, Where Art Thou?" The group recently won a Grammy for Best Roots Album. Joe regards the music as a side gig, while driving the kids is his full time job. A report in the Tennessean says, the kids adore "Mr. Joe."
