Seven members of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football team were recently named to the 2017 All-Sun Belt Conference team by Athlon Sports.

Defensive lineman Joe Dillon and placekicker Stevie Artigue were named to the first-team, offensive lineman Kevin Dotson was named to the second-team, and wide receiver Keenan Barnes was named a third-team selection, while three more Cajuns, offensive lineman Robert Hunt, defensive lineman Taboris Lee, and defensive back Tracy Walker, were named to the fourth team.

Dillon, a USA Today Freshman All-America, played in all 13 games for Louisiana, compiling 51 tackles, which was tops among defensive tackles. A second-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection, Dillon accumulated 12.0 tackles for loss and 7.0 sacks last season, which led the squad.

Artigue made good on 29 of 31 extra point attempts, while connecting on 19 of 24 field goal attempts as a sophomore last season. A native of Lafayette, Artigue, led the team in scoring with 86 points in 2016.

Appalachian St. put the most players on the team, with 15, including 7 on the first-team, followed by Arkansas St., with 13, including 5 on the first-team.

Coastal Carolina, participating in Sun Belt Conference football for the first time in 2017, put only three players on the team, the fewest among the 12 members.
