Three LSU graduates were among the seven Americans killed in a helicopter crash in the Bahamas on Thursday.

All total, four women and three men were killed in the crash.

The helicopter belonged to billionaire Chris Cline. He along with his 22-year-old daughter Kameron were on board at the time of the crash and died.

Cline's daughter, and two others, identified as Jillian Clark and Brittney Searson, were LSU alumnae. All three were members of the university's Phi Mu sorority.

The sorority released the following statement on Friday about the crash.

I can confirm that three of the people, Jillian Clark, Kameron Cline and Brittney Searson, who perished in a helicopter accident on Thursday, July 4, were young Phi Mu alumnae from the Alpha Eta Chapter at Louisiana State University. Our sympathies are with their families, friends and Phi Mu chapter sisters.

A vigil will be held tonight (7/6) in Baton Rouge for the three ladies.

Officials in the Bahamas say the crash happened about two miles off of Big Grand Cay. The helicopter was reportedly traveling back to Fort Lauderdale on Thursday when the crash occurred.

Preliminary information suggests there was no distress call before the helicopter went down. Aviation safety investigators in the Bahamas are working to determine the cause.
