Maybe we aren't as good as we think we are.

It bothers me to have to write this, but here we go. I snapped this photo from a gas station off University Ave. this week in Lafayette.

Apparently someone thought that it would be fine to just throw their box of chicken on the ground at the gas pumps.

I ask, why do people still do this? This is not okay, anywhere. And in public, where there's a waste basket three feet away?

Are we that lazy as a society or do we just not care any more? There has to be a reason as to why people are still littering in 2019.

Remember, this isn't the first time I stumble upon something like this. Just a few weeks ago I found a HUGE TELEVISION in a ditch. Someone apparently thought that it would be fine to just dump what they no longer needed in a ditch and let someone else worry about it.

We MUST do better and it starts with you and me. I hope that you'd consider sharing this story on social media because it is time for all of us to do our part.

If you see someone littering in Lafayette Parish you can always call 1-800-LITRBUG to report the person(s) responsible.

This is sad.
