The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns are in the top 20 in the very first college softball ratings percentage index (RPI) poll of 2018, which was released on Monday

Louisiana, who is currently 18-6 on the season, including a 5-1 Sun Belt Conference record, ranks number 17 this week.

The Cajuns, who went 4-0 last week, return to the diamond this weekend, when they travel to Troy, Alabama to face the Troy Trojans in a Sun Bet Conference series.

Oregon is the top team in the initial RPI rankings, followed by Washington, UCLA, Florida, and Tennessee.

6-10 consists of Georgia, Arizona St., Oklahoma, Florida St., and Arizona.

LSU is #12 this week.

Louisiana is the highest ranked Sun Belt Conference school, followed by Texas St. (#33), South Alabama (#44), Georgia Southern (#49), Georgia St. (#81), Coastal Carolina (#116), UTA (#124), ULM (#111), Troy (#137), ULM (#143), and Appalachian St. (#203).
