The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns continue to roll through Sun Belt Conference competition.

10th-ranked Louisiana defeated the Georgia Southern Eagles, 3-1, in the final game of a three-game, weekend, league series in Statesboro, Georgia on Sunday afternoon, to run their current overall win streak to 6 games.

With the win, UL completed a three-game game sweep in the series, and ran their Sun Belt Conference win streak to 12 games to begin this season, while improving their overall league win streak to 17 games, dating back to last year.

In addition, with their wins over Georgia Southern on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, the Cajuns extended their league series win streak to 50, a school and Sun Belt Conference record.

Louisiana has not dropped a conference series since the weekend of St. Patrick's Day in 2013.

The Cajuns, who won, 2-0, on Friday evening, and 6-3 on Saturday afternoon, ended up outscoring the Eagles, 11-4, in the series.

Louisiana got on the scoreboard first, plating a run in the top half of the fourth inning, when Sarah Hudek crushed a solo home run to right field, her 7th of the season, to grab a 1-0 lead.

UL added two more runs in the top half of the 5th inning, when Kelli Milligan brought home two runs with a single to left, to widen their lead 3-0.

Georgia Southern loaded the bases in the bottom half of the 7th inning, but had to settle for only one run, as the Cajuns went on to the 3-1 triumph.

Louisiana, who outhit Georgia Southern, 8-4, was led at the plate by Dalton, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, while Milligan collected two hits and two RBI's, and Hudek homered.

Summer Ellyson (20-4) recorded the win inside the circle for the Cajuns, allowing one run on 4 hits in 7.0 innings, while striking out 8 batters.

Rylee Waldrep (4-10) suffered the loss for the Eagles, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits over 4.0 innings of work.

With the victory, the Cajuns improved to 29-4, overall, and 12-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Georgia Southern dropped to 16-18, and 3-9, respectively.

Louisiana returns to the diamond on Wednesday evening, when they travel to Lake Charles to take on the McNeese Cowgirls in a non-conference affair.
