LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Two Acadiana High School students were taken into custody Thursday after the two allegedly made threats against the student body.

Officials with the Lafayette Parish School System say a security drill was conducted Wednesday after the two boys were overheard by other students threatening to bring a gun to campus on Friday.

Acadiana High School principal David LeJeune immediately called Scott Police after the incident was reported to him.

After a brief investigation, the two boys, one a 14-year-old and the other a 17-year-old, were taken into custody. The 14-year-old was sent to juvenile detention while the 17-year-old was arrested by police.
