You wouldn't think a photograph such as the one you see here could ever be taken south of Interstate 10. Well, it was. That's one of the many fountains at Parc Lafayette shopping center.

It was actually taken Saturday afternoon after temperatures had started to rise and the full sunshine had a chance to melt the ice a little.

The temperature at the Lafayette Airport this morning at 6 AM was 24 degrees. At least the wind finally quit blowing so hard right? It's hard to believe that while we are bundling up for church this morning by Wednesday we'll be back in our shirt sleeves and short pants.

The National Weather Service Office in Lake Charles reminds us that a Hard Freeze Warning is in effect for all of South Louisiana until mid-morning. Temperatures are expected to rise above 32 degrees about 9 AM. The afternoon high temperature should reach 40.

Skies should remain mostly clear for the area during the day today. There will be a few clouds returning to the area by Monday and Tuesday and temperatures will actually be almost springlike by the middle of the week. The forecast high temperature for Wednesday is 76 degrees.
