Two new roundabouts are coming to rural intersections just outside Lafayette Parish in south Louisiana. The first is in Iberia Parish, another in Acadia Parish.
You are asked to remain patient and aware during the construction phase of the roundabout as crews are expected to be on-site from 7am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
According to Scott Mayor Jan-Scott Richard, this project is expected to take eight months, weather permitting, and the completion date is projected for April 16, 2023.
A traffic shift on the section of Kaliste Saloom Road where it is being widened to five lanes will begin on Monday, July 13 at 9:00 a.m. as construction crews complete the final phase of the roundabout at E. Broussard and Kaliste Saloom Roads.
There are major traffic changes in the plans for the southside of Lafayette in 2019. Lafayette Consolidated Government has announced a proposed road project and is seeking the public's input.
(Okay, hate IS a strong word: let's go with "don't always desire" driving in Lafayette.)
At the top of the list: Roundabouts. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE roundabouts. I am a proponent of roundabouts.
