Newly introduced Louisiana House Bill 373 is aiming to create a state-run recreational cannabis pilot program that, if passed, would run from 2027 through 2030.

Supporters of recreational marijuana in Louisiana might have just discovered the loophole that will by-pass the legislature.

The legislation's author calls the procedural move to defer her recreational marijuana bill "fearmongering".

The new laws taking effect were passed in the regular legislative session that ended in June.

It now appears as though legislation that would legalize recreational cannabis use will go before the Louisiana House on Wednesday.
