A golf tournament and black pot cookoff in March will honor the memory of a fallen Lafayette and Broussard firefighter, with proceeds funding a scholarship.
This event is one of the largest cookoffs around, with thousands of people attending, and over 70 teams participating, making gallons and gallons of gumbo.
Come have a bowl or two of chili or gumbo to help raise money for the Youngsville Veterans of Foreign Wars. They use that money to help local veterans in need.
The competition will begin filming on Monday, September 28. Each chef will prepare their dish and then present it to the 3 judges in hopes of earning that crown.
