While we were recovering from Festival International and Jazz Fest here at home, folks in California were celebrating our culture on Harbor Island in San Diego Bay. Grammy Award Winners Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, official band of the CJ and Debbie Ray Sailaway 2010, will host a benefit concert tonight (7/15) for the Opelousas Boys & Girls Club. It looks like the Recording Academy has 'revamped' it's Grammy categories, eliminating the Cajun/Zydeco field. They will be rolled into the 'American Roots' music field. The Academy announced the changes today.
