A burn ban is now in effect for all of St. Landry Parish until further notice.

The order has now been lifted.

State officials fear damage to water systems in the storm-affected areas might limit local fire crews in their ability to respond.

The Lafayette Fire Department says firefighters have responded to over 20 complaints of residents in the parish burning trash since the statewide burn ban was placed by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal last week.

Those big piles of brush you've cleared out of your yard cannot be burned, at least right now.
