According to a report from News 10, Brandon Scott Lavergne attempted to escape from Angola.

He is complaining of living conditions and violation of rights while in prison.

Lavergne was sentenced to live the remainder of his life in the Angola State Penitentiary after pleading guilty in court to the two murders.

Court documents have been released showing the evidence used in the Mickey Shunick case.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) — Documents filed Thursday in district court are providing an idea of what kind of evidence prosecutors have against Brandon Scott Lavergne, the man accused of murdering Lisa Pate and missing University of Louisiana at Lafayette student Mickey Shunick.

  An arraignment for 33-year-old Brandon Scott Lavergne was held today at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. He pled not guilty for the charges against him.  Lavergne was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in the May 19th disappearance of 22-year-old Mickey Shunick of Lafayette and a second count of first-degree murder in the killing of Lisa Pate in Acadia Parish 13
