Chris Lastrapes is an Acadiana hero. He's an officer with the Sunset police department, an EMT, and a volunteer firefighter. He devotes himself to saving lives. Now, Chris needs a kidney transplant to save his life.
Several "old school" Acadiana rock bands are reuniting and gathering at the Blue Moon Saloon to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "Blast From the Past" is this Thursday, Dec. 22nd, featuring the Bayou Blasters, Untouchables, Soldier, the Rogues, and Fastboy.
Admission is only $10 and the money raised will be distributed to local organizations helping in the recovery through the Community Foundation of Acadiana.

Lafayette's Road to Recovery has organized a benefit concert to raise awareness and funding for Nami Acadiana. The concert is this Friday, August 14th, at Parc International in downtown Lafayette. The event will feature Wayne Toups, Keith Frank, Cupid, Blaine Roy, and Joel Martin.
