$45,012.27 is a staggering amount of money for a business to lose, and that is the amount of money that officials with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says a woman allegedly stole from a business in Eunice.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested 40-year-old Raegan Germaine Berard of Scott for three counts of Theft and four counts of Access Device Fraud.

The arrest was announced, via press release, by St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Speaking on behalf of Guidroz, Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux says that the people that owned the business that Berard worked for came to them with information that they believe shows that Berard was stealing money and using the company credit card for personal items.

After her arrest, Berard was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the above charges, and her bond has been set at $19,000.

Guidroz says the investigation was intiatied by the owner's of the Eunice business,

On December 30, 2019, the owners of a local business located in Eunice, Louisiana filed a complaint for theft with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department.

Raegan Berard was the Manager and Human Resources Officer for this business, and the investigation found that the woman was taking money from two different sources. It is alleged that she took money from payroll garnishments and from bank deposits that were meant to be deposited into the account of the business. In addition to these actions, it is alleged that the woman purchased groceries and gas at Eunice businesses with the company credit card. Investigators also alleged that Berard used the company card to shop for herself on Amazon.
