Retired General Russel L. Honoré Will Head ‘Immediate’ Review Of U.S. Capitol Security

According to multiple reports, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has asked Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré to head up an "immediate" review of the U.S. Capitol Security.

This comes in the wake of deadly riots at the Capitol last week and ahead of next week's presidential inauguration. The report from NOLA.com says Pelosi tapped Honoré for his response to Hurricane Katrina back in 2005.

The Louisiana native was chosen for his "excellent leadership" and no-nonsense approach to getting results.

I have asked retired Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré to lead an immediate review of security infrastructure, inter-agency processes and command and control. The general is a respected leader wither experience dealing with crisis.

Honoré has already spoken on the U.S. Capitol riots and believes that, at minimum, the capitol police were either "complicit" or "stupid and ignorant" by not calling on other agencies for help.

With Honoré on the job, we will more than likely see swift action to finding out what led to the failure in security and how we can ensure that it never happens again.
