Possible Shallow Gravesite Being Investigated In St. Landry Parish

According to our friends at NewsTalk 965 KPEL, Lafayette Police and officials from St. Landry Parish are searching property near the home of Brandon Scott Lavergne about 3 possible gravesites. Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says his office received a tip about a the sites  near St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Guidroz says that 2 of the sites have already been ruled out as gravesites.  The third site is still being searched.the site appeared to be a grave but his deputies were not able to confirm for sure. Cadaver dogs are on the scene assisting.

Brandon Scott Lavergne will be facing a grand jury on Wednesday on kidnapping and murder charges in the case of missing Lafayette resident Mickey Shunick.
