One Hospitalized After Lafayette Shooting

A woman is in the hospital after being shot during an altercation in Lafayette Saturday in the 300 block of Verdun Street.

Lafayette Police Department Spokesman Sergeant Wayne Griffin says in a press release that a woman went to a home, and there was some sort of verbal altercation.

Griffin says that shots were fired, and the woman received a shot to her left side that went through her body.

She is being treated at a local hospital, and officials say the suspect will face a charge of Illegal Discharge While Committing A Violent Offense.
